(1) Structural principles, specifications, and uses
1. Structure principle
A
steel ruler is a measuring tool used to measure length. It is made of stainless steel and consists of a ruler body, side scales, and hanging holes, as shown in Figure 1-131.
2. usual format
The nominal specifications of ordinary steel rulers: 0~150mm; 0~300mm; 0~500mm; 0~1000mm; 0~1500mm; 0~2000mm. The smallest scale of a steel ruler is generally 0.5mm or 1.0mm.
3. The main purpose
Steel rulers are mainly used to measure length dimensions.
(2) How to use
1. Check appearance
The edge, side and back of the
steel ruler should be smooth and straight, and there should be no burrs, edges, and file marks; there should be no bruises, rust and influence on the scored surface and knife edge plane of the
steel ruler. Obvious spots and scratches used; lines must be clear, perpendicular to the side, and there should be no visible broken lines.
The graduation of the steel ruler shall be counted from the end, and the corresponding number in centimeters shall be marked. The nominal full length should be marked with cm units and the CMC mark on the ruler (shown at the hanging hole in Figure 1-131).
2. Measurement method
(1) According to the actual size of the workpiece, select the specifications and display accuracy that meet the measurement requirements
(2) Wipe the ruler body and the measuring end surface.
(3) When measuring, hold the steel ruler firmly and flatly, close to the surface of the workpiece to be measured, with the scale face up and face the eye of the measurer. When reading, the line of sight of the eye should be perpendicular to the scale surface of the steel ruler, and cannot be tilted, otherwise the reading of the data will be inaccurate.
(3) Precautions for use and maintenance
1.After use, wipe off the oil, dust and impurities on the
steel ruler.
2.Hang a steel ruler with a large size (≥500mm) on special nails to make it hang vertically (Figure 1-132), or lay it flat on a flat panel, platform or flat cabinet to prevent deformation and bending And it affects the measurement accuracy or cannot be used and is scrapped.
3. Place it in a fixed position or hang it vertically to prevent dust and rust, and apply anti-rust oil.
4 .Strictly submit for inspection in accordance with the periodic verification plan of measuring instruments, and can only be used after the verification is qualified.
